Learning Technologies Group appoints Leslie-Ann Reed to Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK – Learning Technologies Group plc, the leading e-learning company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Piers Lea, Richard Jones, Dale Solomon and Leslie-Ann Reed to the Board of Directors. Piers Lea will be appointed as Chief Strategy Officer of the Group, Richard Jones will continue in his role as Finance Director, Dale Solomon will be appointed as Chief Operating Officer and Leslie-Ann Reed will be appointed as Non-Executive Director.

Piers Lea (53 years old) founded LINE Communications Holdings Limited (“LINE”), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Group, in 1989, which was acquired by LTG in April 2014. Piers has over 30 years’ experience in distance learning and communications and is widely considered a thought leader in the field of e-learning. He will continue to aid clients in achieving results through the use of learning technologies.

Richard Jones (49 years old) was appointed as Finance Director of Epic Group Limited (“Epic”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Group, in 2008. Prior to joining Epic, Richard qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton and subsequently worked in Sydney for Price Waterhouse Coopers. He continued to develop his financial management skills at Sussex Enterprise, a combined Chamber of Commerce, Training and Enterprise and he has a strong commercial focus. Since assuming the post of Finance Director, Richard has played an integral role in managing the growth of Epic and has been a key figure in Learning Technologies Group plc’s listing on AIM in November 2013 and its subsequent acquisitions of LINE and Preloaded.

Dale Solomon (35 years old) was appointed Commercial Director of Epic in 2010. Prior to this, he spent 12 years as an internal and external learning consultant where he worked with global organisations to help them achieve measurable return on investment.  Under his leadership, Epic has enjoyed continued year-on-year improvement in operating profit margin and a sharp rise in customer satisfaction. He has been instrumental in ensuring the successful opening of Epic’s first international offices in Rio de Janeiro and New York in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Dale is responsible for overseeing all central support functions of the Group globally to include Sales, Marketing, Bid, IT & Facilities, Human Resources, Quality, Special Projects and International Operations.

Leslie-Ann Reed (55 years old) was appointed Chief Financial Officer of GoIndustry Dovebid plc in 2010 until July 2012 when the business was sold to Liquidity Services Inc. Prior to this, she served as Chief Financial Officer of Metal Bulletin plc and as an adviser to Marwyn Investment Management. She has extensive international experience in the media industry having served as Chief Financial Officer of PolyGram Film Operations and also worked at Warner Communications and EMI. Leslie-Ann qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Cocke, Vellacot & Hill before moving to Arthur Andersen to continue to develop her financial management expertise.
