– USA, MI – La-Z-Boy Incorporated (NYSE: LZB) announced the appointment of current President and CEO Melinda Whittington to the additional role of Chair of the Board of Directors effective December 11, 2024, alongside Mike Lawton who will step back to his previous position of Lead Independent Director.

About Melinda Whittington
Melinda Whittington has served as President and CEO and a member of its Board of Directors since 2021. She joined La-Z-Boy Incorporated as SVP and CFO, a role she held for three years before she was appointed CEO. Previously, she was CFO of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, as well as SVP of Corporate Controller and CAO for Kraft Foods Group, Inc. Earlier in her career, Melinda Whittington spent 20 years with The Procter and Gamble Company in finance roles of increasing responsibility. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Best Buy Co., Inc.
About Michael Lawton
Mike Lawton, who has been a director since 2013, has served as the non-executive Chair of the Board since 2022. Before becoming Chair, he was the independent Lead Director beginning in 2021. He retired from Domino’s Pizza, Inc., where he was EVP and CFO and previously held various management roles, including interim CIO and EVP of International. Before this, Lawton was SVP and COO of Gerber Products Company, now a subsidiary of Nestle S.A. He also serves currently on the Board of Directors and as the Chair of the Audit Committee for Universal Corporation.
