Kenmare Resources welcomes Sameer Oundhakar to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– IRELAND, Dublin –  Kenmare Resources Plc (LON: KMR | ISE: KMR), one of the leading global producers of titanium minerals and zircon, which operates the Moma Titanium Minerals Mine in northern Mozambique, today announced the appointment of Sameer Oundhakar to the Board as a Non-Executive Director, effective immediately, as the nominee of African Acquisition Sarl controlled by Oman Investment Authority (OIA).

“We are delighted to welcome Sameer Oundhakar to the Board and we look forward to working with him and benefitting from his expertise and diverse experience.” said Board Chairman, Steven McTiernan.

The company also announced that Gabriel Smith has decided not to stand for re-election as a Non-Executive Director at the 2021 AGM and that Non-Executive Director Tim Keating has informed the Company that he will step down from the Board of Directors effective immediately.

Tim was appointed on 14 October 2016, having been nominated by African Acquisition Sarl, Kenmare’s largest shareholder.

About Sameer Oundhakar

Mr. Oundhakar joined OIA in 2018 and is a Senior Manager in the Diversified Private Equity Investments department of OIA. He has extensive Private Equity experience across industry sectors and geographies.

Mr. Oundhakar has a Bachelor’s degree with distinction in Mechanical Engineering from VJTI Mumbai, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, and an MBA from INSEAD.
