Karoo Energy appoints Darren Hopkins to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, London – Karoo Energy PLC (ISDX:KEP), today announced the appointment of Darren Hopkins as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.

About Darren Hopkins

Darren is a commercial, big 4 qualified chartered accountant with an expertise in Corporate Finance and a broad range of in-house and advisory experience. Darren has held positions in varying roles in private industry, having gained his early career financial related experience at Ernst Young LLP and PKF Littlejohn. Darren has also worked with numerous publicly traded entities in a consulting capacity.

Noel Lyons, Chief Executive Officer of the company, commented: We are pleased to welcome Darren Hopkins to the board of Karoo Energy as Non-Executive Director. With the Company preparing to move to AIM, and with its current NEX Exchange operations, Darren will focus upon and strengthen the finance function and internal controls of the Company, thereby ensuring stringent corporate governance.

The Company also announces the simultaneous resignation of Andrew Smith and the Company would like to thank him for his contribution to the Company since his appointment in September 2017. The Company anticipates making an additional appointment to further strengthen the Board in the near future.

The Board continues to work towards an AIM listing which is now anticipated to occur in October 2018. The Company expects to publish its audited financial results to 30 April 2018 by the end of September.
