– UK, London – JPMorgan China Growth & Income plc (LON: JCGI) announced the nomination of Nick Bannerman for his election to its Board as an independent non-executive Director with effect from 24th January 2025, following the AGM on 23rd January 2025.
About Nick Bannerman
Nick Bannerman is an experienced professional who has held senior positions in a number of firms with exposure to China during his career. He has been a non-executive Director, Audit Chair and Chair of two investment trusts over the past, 21 years.
Nick Bannerman is a non-executive Director and Audit Chair of The Global Smaller Companies Investment Trust. He joined the board in 2019 and became Audit Chair in August 2024.
He is a former non-executive Director, Audit Chair and Chair of Baillie Gifford Japan Trust. He was,s Audit Chair from 2010 – 2014 and then Chair from 2014 – 2019.
From 2010 to 2024, Nick Bannerman was Managing Director & Global Sales Director of Johnstons of Elgin, the UK’s largest manufacturer of textiles, particularly in the luxury sector. Previously, he was CEO of Kinloch Anderson and Managing Director of Peter Scott & Co., both renowned Scottish tartans and textile businesses with exposure to the Chinese market. He qualified as a Scottish Chartered Accountant in 1990 with Deloitte, Edinburgh.
