[ARCHIVE] Inclusive Growth Forum announces its launch to promote Inclusive Growth & Innovation along with its newly formed Advisory Board

– SWITZERLAND, Geneva –  Inclusive Growth Forum (“IGF”) today announced the launch of its international non-profit organization and the launch of its online platform on LinkedIn, the Forum on Inclusive Growth & Innovation. Inclusive Growth seeks to ensure that more people realize the benefits of technological progress and benefit from new educational, financial and work opportunities.

“We are in a phase of exponential technological growth and innovation. It is time to make innovation inclusive. The creation of the Inclusive Growth Forum gives members the opportunity to be part of our knowledge exchange platform and offers all Inclusive Innovators the opportunity to showcase their business and contribution to inclusive growth.” said IGF Founder, Jacques Putzeys.

There is widespread political consensus on the importance of promoting inclusive growth as a result of a significant widening of inequality in economies at all levels of development. Across the OECD, for example, the average income of the richest 10% of the population is about nine times that of the poorest 10%, up from seven times 25 years ago according to a World Economic Forum report. Over the last decade, median household income has stagnated in several advanced economies (such as Germany) and even declined in the United States, resulting in a more vulnerable middle class at risk of falling into poverty.

According to the World Bank, rapid and sustained poverty reduction requires inclusive growth that allows people to contribute to and benefit from economic growth. Both the pace and pattern of growth are critical for substantial poverty reduction- it should be broad-based across sectors, and inclusive of the large part of the country’s labor force. Inclusiveness – which encompasses equity, equality of opportunity, and protection in market and employment transitions – is an essential ingredient of any successful growth strategy.

“Now, more than ever is the time for us to work towards building a more inclusive society. We are gathering thought leaders and companies to exchange best practices, steer the business model of our members towards innovation and growth and establish debate and engagement around inclusive growth and innovation,”  said Putzeys.

Our Advisory Board is comprised of:

  • Filiberto Amati, Italy
  • Olivier Dellacherie, Switzerland
  • Keary Hayes, USA
  • Fanny Levitan, Israel
  • Jacques Putzeys, France
  • Philippe Vanrie, Belgium
  • Tasos Vasiliadis, Greece
  • Pedro Roseiro, Portugal

Membership is open to all who are interested in contributing to the platform and to be informed and contribute to Inclusive Growth.
