Go-Ahead Group announces David Blackwood to its Board as Independent Director and next Senior Independent Director

– UK, London –  Go-Ahead Group PLC (LON: GOG) today announced the appointment of David Blackwood to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director and Senior Independent Director Designate, effective from 1 January 2022.

With the recent announcement of Dominic Lavelle as Independent Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair Designate to the Board from 1 January 2022, David’s appointment will even further enrich the collective expertise of the Board,” commented Board Chair, Clare Hollingsworth.

David will also join the Audit, Remuneration, and Nomination Committees.

About David Blackwood

David Blackwood has extensive business and listed company experience, notably in Finance, Audit, and Risk. He is currently Non-Executive Chair of Smiths News plc, where he is also Chair of the Nomination Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee. He is the Deputy Chairman, Audit Committee Chair, and Senior Independent Director of FTSE SmallCap Esken Limited (previously Stobart Group Limited) and a member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

David Blackwood has previously been Audit Committee Chair and Senior Independent Director of Scapa plc and Dignity plc, where he also served on the Nomination and Remuneration Committees in respect of both. David was formerly CFO of Synthomer plc, before which he was Group Treasurer and Group Financial Controller at Imperial Chemical Industries plc. David has previously served as a member of the Cabinet Office Audit and Risk Committee and on the Board for Actuarial Standards. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
