LATAM – GeoPark Holding Limited (“GeoPark” or the “Company”), the Latin American oil and gas explorer, operator and consolidator with operations and producing properties in Chile, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina (AIM: GPK), is pleased to announce the appointment of Pedro Aylwin Chiorrini, 53 years old, as a new member of the Board of Directors of the Company, effective today.
Mr. Aylwin has been GeoPark’s Director of Governance and Legal since April 2011 and from 2003 to 2006, Mr. Aylwin worked for the Company as an advisor on governance and legal matters. Mr. Aylwin holds a degree in law from the Universidad de Chile and an LLM from the University of Notre Dame, USA. He has extensive experience in the natural resources sector. Mr. Aylwin has been a partner at the law firm of Aylwin Abogados in Santiago, Chile, where he has represented mining, chemical and oil and gas companies in numerous transactions. From 2006 to 2011, he served as Lead Manager and General Counsel at BHP Billiton, Base Metals, where he was in charge of legal and corporate governance matters on BHP Billiton’s projects, operations and natural resource assets in South America, North America, Asia, Africa and Australia. Mr. Aylwin is also a board member of Egeda España.
Mr. Aylwin’s current shareholding in the Company is 111,431 ordinary shares.
