Barclays appoints François Baroin as Chairman, Barclays France

– FRANCE, Paris / UK, London –  Barclays PLC (LON: BARC) today announced the appointment of  François Baroin as Chairman, Barclays France.

By broadening his role, François will be able to make an even stronger contribution to the expansion of our activities in France.” said CEO, Barclays Europe, Francesco Ceccato.

François Baroin was appointed as a Senior Advisor to Barclays in 2018 and has since then made an impressive contribution to the bank’s activities, notably playing a key role in the expansion of Barclays Corporate and Investment Bank in France. Given the success of this partnership, François Baroin will now take on a broader role as Chairman of Barclays, France, and increase his involvement to help grow Barclays’ franchise in the country.

In his new and expanded role, François Baroin will focus on driving client relationships, commercial opportunities, and revenue growth across all of the bank’s business lines in France. François will continue to work closely with Ghislain de Brondeau and Yann Krychowski, Barclays Co-Heads of Investment Banking in France as well as with Raoul Salomon, Barclays Country CEO for France and Co-Head of Markets, Barclays Europe.

About François Baroin

François is a well-known figure, having held several ministerial offices and previously served as a member of parliament. He was Government Spokesman, Interior Minister, Finance Minister, and Minister of the Economy in France between 2005 and 2012.
