– UK, London – Fidelity European Trust PLC (LON: FEV) announced the appointments of Rutger Koopmans and Vicky Hastings to its Board as Non-Executive Directors with effect from 29 September 2025.
Rutger Koopmans will join the Audit and Management Engagement Committees, while Vicky Hastings will serve on the Audit and Management Engagement Committees.
About Rutger Koopmans
Rutger Koopmans started his career in 1982 at MeesPierson NV, before moving to ING, where he served as a Managing Director until 2008. Since then, he has been running his own advisory practice, and currently, he is the Owner/Director of a career counselling practice for senior executives, PIT Self-Placement BV. He is a non-executive Director of Vollenhoven Groep and Chair of Stichting Pluryn and Woningstichting Eigen Haard. These entities are not publicly listed. He is also the author of “Your Life Your Rules, taking charge of your working life”. He was a non-executive Director of Henderson EuroTrust plc from 2016 until its combination with Henderson European Trust plc in 2024, following which he joined the HET Board as a non-executive Director.
About Victoria Hastings
Vicky Hastings has over 35 years’ experience in the investment management industry in both executive and non-executive roles. She is an experienced finance professional and board director who brings a deep understanding of the investment process and oversight, corporate governance, and investment company expertise to the Board. Over the last 20 years, she has served on several investment company boards, most recently as non-executive Director and Chair of Henderson European Trust plc, Alliance Witan plc, Edinburgh Investment Trust plc, Impax Environmental Markets plc, as well as serving as a non-executive Director of JPMorgan Asset Management UK Limited and JPMorgan Asset Management International Limited. Her executive roles included investment leadership positions at Merrill Lynch Private Investors and JO Hambro Capital Management, having previously been a European equity fund manager at both Mercury Asset Management and Kleinwort Benson Investment Management. She is also a Trustee of Mountbatten Isle of Wight Ltd and Mountbatten Hampshire Ltd, charities comprising the Mountbatten Hospice Group.
