FedEx announces COO Raj Subramaniam as next CEO alongside Fred Smith to serve as Executive Chairman

– USA, TN –  FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) today announced the appointment of COO Raj Subramaniam as the next CEO, effective June 1, 2022, to succeed Fred Smith who will become Executive Chairman.

As part of the transition, RAj Subramaniam has been named President and CEO-elect of FedEx Corp. effective immediately.

Concurrently, Brad Martin, Chair of the Audit Committee, is now Vice Chairman of the Board and is the designated successor to serve as Chairman of the Board.

About Raj Subramaniam

Raj Subramaniam was elected to the FedEx Board of Directors in 2020 and will maintain his seat on the Board. Prior to his role as President and COO of FedEx Corp., Subramaniam was President and CEO of FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company. He also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer of FedEx Corp., where he was responsible for developing the corporate strategy. In addition, he served as the President of FedEx Express in Canada and in several other management and marketing roles throughout Asia and the U.S. since he joined FedEx in 1991.
