Jonathan Howell, a UK national, is the CFO of The Sage Group plc., the FTSE 100 global market leader for technology that provides small and medium businesses with the visibility, flexibility, and efficiency to manage finance, operations, and people. Jonathan has extensive experience in change and modernization, most recently as part of the management team transforming Sage from a software business into a cloud, data, and artificial intelligence business.
Before his appointment to his current role in November 2018, Jonathan had previously been an independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee of The Sage Group plc. for five years while serving as Group Finance Director of Close Brothers Group plc for 10 years until November 2018. Before that, he was Group Finance Director at the London Stock Exchange Group plc for nine years and has also been a non-executive director of EMAP plc and Chairman of FTSE International. The early part of Jonathan’s career was at Price Waterhouse where he qualified as a chartered accountant.
