Experian announces Alison Brittain to its Board as upcoming Independent Director

– IRELAND, Dublin –  Experian plc (LON: EXPN), the global information services company, today announced the appointment of Alison Brittain to its Board as a new independent Non-Executive Director, effective from 1 September 2020.

About Alison Brittain

Alison Brittain, a UK national, is the Chief Executive of Whitbread plc, the UK’s largest hospitality company, which operates a portfolio of brands in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Since joining Whitbread in 2015, she has led a significant transformation; scaling and developing the Costa coffee business ahead of its successful sale in 2019, and building a market-leading hotel brand and spearheading its expansion in key strategic markets. Alison joined Whitbread from Lloyds Banking Group, where she was Group Director of their Retail Division, with responsibility for the Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland retail branch networks, telephone banking and intermediary channels, and customer products along with the business banking and wealth businesses. Prior to joining Lloyds Bank, Alison was Executive Director for Retail Distribution and a Board Director at Santander UK PLC. She previously held senior roles at Barclays Bank.

Alison was educated in both the UK and the USA and holds an MBA from Cambridge University’s Judge Institute. She has previously been a member of the UK Prime Minister’s Advisory Council, was named ‘Business Woman of the Year 2017’ in the Veuve Clicquot awards and awarded a CBE in the 2019 New Year Honours list. Alison was, until recently, a Non-Executive Director of Marks & Spencer Group PLC, and is Deputy Chair and a Trustee of the UK Prince’s Trust.
