– USA, MA – ECM – PCB Stator Technology, the US Electric motor design and software company, today announced the appointment of Bill Warner to its Board of Directors, bringing over three decades of experience backing and building technology companies.
As a company, ECM pairs its PCB Stator innovation with a software optimization platform, PrintStator, to design custom electric machines with premium operating and sustainable characteristics.
About Bill Warner
He currently serves as an LP at 9 active VC funds and has invested in and advised over 60 startups. Examples of Warner’s recent SaaS investment exits include Zipari, Intabio, List Reports, Klara, OnScale, and Tarus. Bill was the founding VP of Sales at Cacheflow/Blue Coat Systems—a venture that went public in 1999 and was subsequently acquired by Symantec. He was also an early business development executive at Silicon Graphics, growing sales to $2 billion, before the company merged with Cray Supercomputers, and ultimately sold to Hewlett Packard.
Warner believes ECM stands to achieve an outsized impact on many levels via electric motor innovation and CAD software. ECM’s PrintStator platform powers the design, manufacture, and integration of PCB Stator electric machines that are lighter, faster, quieter, and more energy and space efficient across a broad range of use cases ECM-designed motors achieve efficiencies as high as 96 percent and require up to 70 percent less raw materials to produce.
In the fourth quarter of 2022, ECM began beta testing its PrintStator design software as a SaaS product with select partners, in advance of a full release in later 2023.
Altheseis factors into Warner’s belief in ECM PCB Stator Technology’s trajectory. “Of all the companies I’ve advised I view ECM as one of the strongest contenders for making a huge difference at scale on commercial, personal, and public levels. With the electrification of everything, ECM is in a position to drive more efficient and sustainable design for billions of electric motors across dozens of verticals via SaaS,” ECM’s new Board of Directors member Bill Warner said.
Warner also highlighted ECM’s IP as an inherent indicator of company value. ECM was recently granted five additional patents for its advanced utilization of Printed Circuit Board Stators for superior performance of axial flux, air core machines.
“Most patents never see the light of day in any tangible way via a product or service. ECM is distinguished in that its IP and patents are driving the design of electric motors with supreme performance attributes in a manner that didn’t exist a few years ago. There’s real intellectual property propelling global adoption of ECM’s disruptive technology and the company’s revenue growth,” said Bill Warner.
About ECM
ECM PCB Stator Technology pairs pioneering PCB Stator – printed circuit board – technology to its PrintStator software platform to design next-generation electric machines with premium performance characteristics for multiple applications. This serves a global need for specialized electric motors that (by one estimate) will surge to over a billion units a year in a sector valued at over $200 billion annually.
ECM has partnered with numerous organizations to create optimized motor solutions across a variety of verticals: HVAC, Consumer Electronics, E-Mobility, Fitness, Medical, Robotics, Renewable Energy, Aerospace, Defense, and more.
ECM’s design partners include aerospace and defense innovator L3 Harris, global electronics manufacturer Celestica, and consumer electronics startup Nodo Film Systems.
In tandem with significant client growth, ECM recently relocated its headquarters to a newly constructed 6000 square feet corporate facility in Needham Heights, Massachusetts, while also expanding its Bozeman, Montana operation into a new 5000 square feet facility. Both locations boast enhanced engineering capabilities – including a lab dedicated the to advanced integration of ECM’s PrintStator motor CAD software into client design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes. In the first quarter of 2023, ECM expanded to Europe, opening branch offices in London (UK) and Barcelona (Spain).
