Diageo announces COO Debra Crew to join its Board of Directors as next CEO

– UK, London –  Diageo (LON: DGE | NYSE: DEO) today announced the appointment of current COO, Debra Crew, to its Board of Directors as CEO, effective 1 July 2023, to succeed Sir Ivan Menezes who will step down from the Board and as CEO on 30 June 2023.

About Debra Crew

Before being appointed COO in October 2022, Debra Crew was President, of Diageo North America and Global Supply, leading Diageo’s largest market to 14% organic net sales growth in fiscal 2022, following on from 20% organic net sales growth in the prior year. Debra Crew originally joined the Diageo Board as a Non-Executive Director in April 2019, before stepping down from the Board when appointed President, of Diageo North America in July 2020.

Debra Crew is the former President and CEO of Reynolds American, Inc., where she delivered strong performance growth before the company’s acquisition, having previously served as President and COO, and President and CCO. Before that, Debra Crew spent five years at PepsiCo, where she served as President, of North America Nutrition; President, of PepsiCo Americas Beverages; and President of the Western Europe Region. Before PepsiCo, Debra held positions with Kraft Foods, Nestlé S.A., and Mars, Inc.

Debra Crew is a graduate of the University of Denver, earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and previously served as an officer in the United States Army. She currently serves on the board of Stanley Black & Decker, Inc., having previously served on the boards of Newell Brands and Mondēlez International.
