Close Brothers Group welcomes Patricia Halliday to its Board as Independent Director

– UK, London –  Close Brothers Group plc (LON: CBG) today announced the appointment of Patricia Halliday to its Board as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 August 2021.

She brings considerable risk and commercial expertise and has a deep understanding of the regulatory, risk and governance environment in which the group operates. Patricia’s skills and expertise will be a strong complement to the existing board and I look forward to working with her.” said Board Chairman, Mike Biggs.

Patricia will also join the Risk and Audit Committees, and she will become a director of the Banking subsidiary, Close Brothers Limited.

About Patricia Halliday

Patricia has over 30 years of experience in risk management across the investment, corporate and retail banking sectors, both in the UK and internationally. She began her career at NatWest, followed by senior credit risk roles at Barclays Capital and then Deutsche Bank, including as Head of Leveraged and Structured Finance and Commercial Real Estate, and Chair of the Underwriting Committee, covering the UK, European, and US markets.

Most recently, Patricia was Chief Risk Officer of Santander UK with responsibility for risk management and oversight across retail and commercial banking. Before Santander, Patricia was CRO of GE Capital International Holdings Limited, where she gained international non-executive experience at several European subsidiaries.
