– UK, Brownhills – Castings PLC (LON: CGS) today announced the appointment of current Senior Independent Director Alec Jones as the next Chairman of the Board of Directors effective from 1 January 2023, to succeed Brian Cooke who will leave the Board from 1 January 2023.
Concurrently, Andrew Eastgate will be appointed as Senior Independent Director with effect from 1 January 2023.
The company also announced the appointment of Mark Smith to its Board as a non-executive director with effect from 16 November 2022. He has also joined the Audit and Risk Committee as its Chairman and the Nomination and Remuneration Committees as a member.
About Mark Smith
Mark Smith was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for 24 years until he retired from the firm in September 2021. He was the Midlands Regional Chairman and a senior partner in the UK Audit and Risk business and has extensive experience in auditing public limited companies. Mark Smith is currently the Chair of the Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee of the West Midlands Combined Authority and the Chair of the Risk, Audit, and Finance Committee of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
