– USA, MA – Care.com, the world’s largest online care destination, announced today that Steven Cakebread has been appointed to the Company’s Board of Directors where his duties will include Chairman of the Audit Committee.
In making the announcement, Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Founder and CEO of Care.com, said, “We are thrilled to welcome a technology executive of Steve’s caliber to our Board. Steve’s background in both B-to-C and B-to-B businesses and breadth of leadership experience will be invaluable to the growth of our consumer matching business, alongside our Workplace Solutions and Business Services units.”

Mr. Cakebread currently serves as Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer of D-Wave Systems Inc., a quantum computing company. He previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of Pandora Media Inc. from March 2010 to January 2013. Prior to joining Pandora, Mr. Cakebread was President and Chief Strategy Officer of Salesforce.com, a customer relationship management service provider, and served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Salesforce.com from May 2002 to February 2008. During his tenure at Salesforce.com, Mr. Cakebread was responsible for managing the company’s global financial staff and initiatives and evaluating its software service deliverability.
Before joining Salesforce.com, Mr. Cakebread spent five years at Autodesk, a software company, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. From April 1992 to April 1997, he was Vice President of Finance for Silicon Graphics World Trade, a subsidiary of a high-performance computing and data management company. Mr. Cakebread held various finance and senior management roles at Hewlett Packard in the United States and Asia from 1974 to 1992. Mr. Cakebread holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University.
