– UK, Cambridge – Camena Bioscience, a synthetic biology company providing genes to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, today announced the appointment of Dr. Nicola Thompson (Ph.D.) to its Board of Directors as Chair.
About Dr. Nicola Thompson
Dr. Nicola Thompson is an industry leader, with experience developing and commercializing innovative technologies and therapeutic modalities. She was the founding CEO of Amphista Therapeutics, successfully steering the company through a $7.5 million Series A, and a $53 million Series B, and established partnerships with leading pharmaceutical companies with a combined deal value of more than $2 billion. Before Amphista, she was Chair of the Board at Nanna Therapeutics, playing a key role in corporate development and its successful acquisition by Astellas. Nicola Thompson also held senior leadership roles at Roche, where she built and led pRED’s external drug discovery organization, and in business development at GSK.

Nicola Thompson received a PhD in Cell Biology from University College London.
