– USA, SC – Benefitfocus, Inc. (NASDAQ: BNFT), today announced the appointment of Alexander Lerner to its Board of Directors, effective immediately, concurrently with the cooperation agreement with Indaba Capital Management, L.P., one of the largest common stockholders.
Mr. Lerner will also join the Nominating and Governance Committee and Strategy and Finance Committee as Co-Chair.

The company also announced that Francis Pelzer has retired from the Board, effective immediately.

Mr. Lerner is currently an Investment Partner at Indaba. Mr. Lerner joined Indaba in 2010, and following his graduation from business school in 2014, rejoined Indaba and was elected to Partner in 2016. Before Indaba, Mr. Lerner was an analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Lazard Ltd.
