BAE Systems announces Angus Cockburn to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, London –  BAE Systems plc (LON: BA) today announced the appointment of Angus Cockburn to its Board as a non-executive director effective from 6 November 2023.

He brings extensive strategic and financial experience that will complement and enhance the mix of skills we have on the Board currently.” said Board Chair, Cressida Hogg.

About Angus Cockburn

Angus Cockburn is currently Chair of James Fisher & Sons plc and the Senior Independent Director of Ashtead Group plc. He is also a non-executive director of STS Global Income & Growth Trust plc but will step down from that board at the company’s AGM in 2024. Until his retirement in 2021, he served for six years as Group CFO of Serco Group plc, during which he helped manage a major transformation of the business. Before that, he was CFO of Aggreko plc. He is also a former non-executive director of GKN plc and Howdens Joinery Group PLC.

Angus Cockburn holds an MBA from the IMD Business School in Switzerland. He is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
