Babcock International Group appoints Sir Andrew Parker to its Board as Independent Director

– UK, London –  Babcock International Group PLC (LON: BAB) today announced the appointment of Sir Andrew Parker to its Board as an independent non-executive director, effective immediately. He will bring the benefit of his extensive experience of working at the highest level of public service to the Board.

Babcock also announced that Sir David Omand has informed the Board of his intention to retire after 11 years of service at the end of the current financial year.

The Board would like to thank Sir David for his contribution to Babcock both as an Independent Director and as a former Senior Independent Director. The Board wishes him well for the future.

About Sir Andrew Parker

Sir Andrew has had a long career in a wide range of national security and intelligence roles in the UK, which culminated in him becoming the Director-General of MI5, the UK Government’s national security agency, in 2013. He retired from the role earlier this year. As Director-General, Sir Andrew focused on new technology-centred change and championed inclusion.
