Anglo-Eastern Plantations appoints Jonathan Law to the Board as Independent Non-Executive Director

Malaysia – Anglo-Eastern Plantations Plc (AEP.L) which owns, operates and develops plantations in Indonesia and Malaysia, is pleased to announce the appointment to the Board of Mr. Jonathan Law Ngee Song, as Independent Non-Executive Director, with effect from 4 July 2013.

Mr. Law, aged 47, is a Malaysian citizen and has been admitted as Advocate and Solicitor, to the Malaysia High Court of Malaya.

Following his graduation from Australia National University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws, he practised as legal assistant in Allen & Gledhill (1991 to 1995) and was promoted as partner (1995 to 1996). In 1996 he joined the Malaysian law firm Messrs Nik Saghir & Ismail as a partner of the firm.

Mr Law was appointed Director of Evergreen Fibreboard Berhad, a public listed company in Malaysia on 8 January 2007 and became Independent Non-Executive Chairman on 22 February 2010. He is also the Chairman of Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee and a member of Nomination Committee of the Malaysian listed company Evergreen Fibreboard Berhad.

Upon his appointment to the AEP Board Mr Law will also be appointed a member of the Audit Committee, the Remuneration Committee and the Nominations and Corporate Governance Committee.
