Allina Health | Aetna welcomes Tom Lindquist as CEO of Allina Health Aetna Joint Venture

– USA, CT – Allina Health | Aetna, the jointly owned health care company by Allina Health and Aetna (NYSE:AET), named Tom Lindquist as CEO as was announced by the two organizations in January 2017.

Reporting to the Allina Health | Aetna board, Lindquist’s immediate priorities will be on building a management team, finalizing product offerings and launching an integrated digital portal experience. Over the long term, his focus will be on growing Allina Health | Aetna geographically and developing a differentiated member experience.

Lindquist has an extensive background as a leader in the health care industry. He comes to Allina Health | Aetna from Molina’s South Carolina plan, where he served as president. In that role, he was responsible for strategic planning, profit and loss management, contract negotiations and government relations. While there, he developed programs to improve health outcomes for people who qualified for government-sponsored programs.

Before joining Molina in 2013, Lindquist was the president of AccentCare in Texas, a leader in home health care, where he led strategy and operations and was responsible for over 10,000 employees in Medicare, Personal Care and Hospice organizations throughout the state.

Lindquist also held leadership positions for UnitedHealthcare in Minnesota, Texas and Louisiana; Ochsner Health Plan, Inc.; and Memorial Sisters of Charity.

Lindquist received his MBA from the University of Houston and a BBA in Management from University of Texas at Arlington.

Allina Health | Aetna anticipates offering a number of fully insured and self-insured commercial products starting as early as April 1, 2018, with Medicare and other products to follow, pending regulatory approvals.
