– KAZAKHSTAN, Almaty – Air Astana Joint Stock Company (LON: AIRA) announced the appointment of Diyas Assanov to its Board as an Independent Director, effective from 31 May 2024.
Concurrently, Myles St John Westcott, the Non-Executive Director representative of shareholder BAE Systems (Kazakhstan) Limited, has stepped down from the Board of Directors on 30 May 2024.
About Diyas Assanov
During the last three years, Diyas Assanov has served in the role of the General Director of the Siemens Regional company in Kazakhstan, focusing on its Digital Industries and Smart Infrastructure businesses. Before that, he was the General Counsel of Siemens Energy, Russia, Eastern Europ,e and Central Asia.
Diyas Assanov holds a Bachelor’s degree in international relations from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Bachelor’s degree in international law from M.S. Narikbayev University of KAZGUU, Kazakhstan.
