Walker Greenbank appoints Vijay Thakrar to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, Denham – Walker Greenbank PLC (LON:WGB), the luxury interior furnishings group, announces the appointment of Vijay Thakrar, a highly experienced adviser to small and mid-cap companies, as a Non-Executive Director. He will join the Board and become Chairman of the Audit Committee on 27 November 2018.

He brings a wealth of experience to the Company in areas including corporate governance, business strategy and risk management. About Vijay Thakrar

Vijay Thakrar is a qualified accountant who became a partner at EY in 1999. He moved to Deloitte as a partner in 2009, where his roles included advising brand-based businesses in the consumer sector on issues such as licensing, international expansion and multi-channel strategies.

In 2012, whilst the head of Deloitte’s practice for small and mid-cap companies, he became a non-executive director of the Quoted Companies Alliance, which provides corporate governance and other guidance to AIM-quoted and other companies. In 2016, he left his full-time role at Deloitte to focus on non-executive positions at public and private businesses and not-for-profit organisations.

Vijay Thakrar is currently a non-executive director of Philippines-based food group Monde Nissin, which owns Quorn Foods, and UK-based irrigation company Briggs as well as the MK Dons Football Club Sports & Education Trust. Earlier this month, he stepped down as a non-executive director of the QCA after completing six years.
