IonQ announces CEO Peter Chapman to additional role of Board Chairman alongside Harry You as Lead Independent Director

– USA, MD – IonQ (NYSE: IONQ), a leader in the quantum computing industry, announced the appointment of current CEO Peter Chapman to the additional role of Chairman of the Board of Directors alongside Harry You as Lead Independent Director, effective at the upcoming AGM on June 5, 2024.

Additionally, the Board unanimously nominated Harry You to become the Lead Independent Director of the Board upon the closing of the June 5th Annual General Meeting. He has an extensive history of generating shareholder value, from the sale of EMC to Dell to the acquisition of VMWare by Broadcom.

Both Peter Chapman and Harry You will continue to serve in their existing roles at the company, with Chapman as CEO and President and You as Chairman of the Audit Committee of IonQ’s Board.
