Enables IT Group appoints Miles Johnson as Non-Executive Chairman

UK – Enables IT, the AIM quoted provider of Date Centre and Managed Services, announces that it has appointed Miles Johnson as Non-Executive Chairman with immediate effect. Accordingly, Mike Walliss who assumed the position of Executive Chairman, on an interim basis, will relinquish the role and continue as Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

Mr Johnson, who will oversee the Board, has 25 years’ experience in the Service industry having invested in, and sat on the boards of, a number of businesses including: Zero Octa UK Limited, a revenue recovery business serving the global airlines and employing 800 people in Mumbai; Aqueduct Design & Advertising Limited, a web design agency employing 40 people in Clerkenwell, London; and Bin Weevils Limited, one of the UK’s leading children’s virtual worlds.

In 1990 Mr Johnson founded The Presentation Company Limited which would later become Wheel Limited, where he raised funding for, grew and exited from in 2000. At that point the business was one of the largest web design agencies in the UK, employing 275 people and turning over c£20m. Mr Johnson subsequently bought back the business in 2003, turned it around and sold it again for a significant profit in 2005.

Having participated in the recent placing, Mr Johnson has a £50,000 shareholding in Enables IT.

Mike Walliss, Chief Executive Officer of Enables, said: “I am delighted to welcome Miles to the Board. As Enables IT continues its planned organic and acquisitive growth strategy, Miles’ experience and industry knowledge will be of significant benefit to the Company. His background in predominantly high-growth businesses complements Enables’ own ambitions and growth trajectory and will assist in continuing to build on the early momentum  the Company has achieved since the reverse takeover in November last year.

“We are looking forward to further adding to our portfolio following last month’s acquisition of Support Force Group while our £750,000 contract win – announced earlier this month provides a solid springboard for further growth.”
