Emerald Networks Holdings appointed Alan Clarke as Chairman of the Board

– IRELAND, Dublin – Emerald Networks Holdings Limited (“Emerald Networks”), a new undersea fibre optic network provider, today announced that its Board of Directors has recently appointed Alan C. Clarke as the company’s Chairman of the Board.

Clarke, a 20-year seasoned veteran in the telecommunications industry and former Senior Executive of TE Connectivity Ltd., the parent of Tyco Electronics Group (TEGSA), brings his vast industry, board and management experience to Emerald Networks. Prior to joining Emerald Networks, Clarke served as President of the Network Solutions segment of TE Connectivity, retiring at the end of 2012.

As leader of the Company’s Network Solutions Segment, Clarke had been responsible for all aspects of sales, development and operations for the segment worldwide. The segment consisted of 4 operating divisions, Telecom Networks, Enterprise Networks, Energy, and TE Subcom, with sales of $3.6Bn and 18,000 employees.

Prior to TE Connectivity, he worked for Raychem Corporation, which was acquired by Tyco International. Clarke worked in bothEurope and Asia holding senior management positions. These included Vice President of the Telecom Division, where he was responsible for the marketing, operations and development worldwide; Asia Division Manager for the Telecom and Energy Division; and various European marketing and sales roles.

Clark’s insight, industry experience and leadership will be incredibly valuable to Emerald Networks as the company moves forward in the construction of its cable system, “Emerald Express”.  The most advanced low latency and robust Trans-Atlantic submarine cable system to date.
