DEINOVE appoints Dennis McGrew and Michael Carlos to its Board of Directors

– FRANCE, Paris – DEINOVE (Paris:ALDEI) (Alternext Paris: ALDEI), a cleantech company that designs and develops new industrial production processes based on the exploitation of Deinococcus bacteria announced that the Shareholders’ General Assembly meeting held on May 6, approved the appointment of two new directors.

Dennis McGrew, former President and CEO of NatureWorks

Having completed his career largely in the United States, Dennis McGrew has held numerous global roles with Dow Engineering Plastics, NatureWorks and Genomatica and lived in Europe with Dow Automotive. He has over 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, business management and business development for the chemical, plastics and green chemistry markets. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri in 1983.

Since 2010, Dennis McGrew has been a strategic consultant for several companies in the polymer, bio-plastic and bio-based chemical industry. He is President of the Board of Directors at Material Recovery Holdings LLC, President of the Board of Directors at MRC Polymers Inc. and a member of the Board of Directors at Plastics Reclamation Partners LLC.

From 2009 to 2010, he was the Executive Vice President of Business Development and Chief Business Officer for the California-based company Genomatica, specializing in the production of biochemical compounds (primarily 1,4-butanediol – BDO and butadiene). Dennis McGrew served as President and CEO of NatureWorks from 2006 to 2008, attracting new investors and securing capital to double the production capacity. He joined Nature Works in 2004 as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, leading the global market development of the PLA (polylactic acid) Ingeo™ range, a biodegradable plastic made from cornstarch. Dennis McGrew joined Dow in 1983. He previously served as Global Commercial Director for the Engineering Plastics business of Dow Chemical and as Commercial Director for Dow Automotive Europe.

Michael Carlos, President of Givaudan Fragrances

Michael Carlos has over 20 years of experience in the fragrance industry, and is Chairman of the Research Institute of Fragrance Materials and Vice-Chairman of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) since 2012. He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management and a degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Since 2004, Michael Carlos has been the President of Givaudan Fragrances, one of the two divisions of the Swiss company Givaudan, the world leader in fragrances and flavors. In 2013, this division reported a turnover exceeding 2 billion CHF (~1.6 billion €). In 1999, he was appointed as Head of Consumer Products for this division. Michael Carlos previously managed the European Creative Centre in Argenteuil, after joining the Givaudan Group in 1984 as General Manager in Hong Kong. He began his career with the Tata Group where, notably, he assumed the responsibilities of General Manager in the Industrial Perfumes division.
