Amur Minerals welcomes Tom Bowens to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, London –  Amur Minerals Corporation (LON: AMC) today announced that the Company has appointed Thomas Bowens to the Board as a Non-Executive Director, with immediate effect.

About Tom Bowens

Mr. Bowens has over 25 years of international experience in the minerals exploration sector and is the President and CEO of IG Copper, a company he founded in 2009. IG Copper held the exploration and mining licences for the Malmyzh copper-gold porphyry project, a strategic deposit located in Khabarovsk Krai in the Russian Far East. Malmyzh is one of the largest copper-gold projects in the world with total copper and gold reserves (C1 + C2, Russian ore classification system) of 1.39 billion tonnes of ore containing 5.6 million tonnes of copper at a grade of 0.40% and 9.4 million ounces of gold at a grade of 0.21 grams per tonne. Mr. Bowens successfully explored and negotiated the sale of Malmyzh to Russian Copper Company for $200 million in October 2018.

Prior to founding IG Copper, Mr. Bowens worked for companies including Cyprus Amax Exploration, Harrods Minerals, Ivanhoe Mines, and two Lundin Group Companies, International Uranium and Fortress Minerals Corporation. He has substantial experience working in Mongolia and Russia and has been directly responsible for two major mineral deposit discoveries in the Russian Far East in the past 12 years, Svetloye and Malmyzh.

Thomas has degrees in Economics, Geological Engineering (Magna Cum Laude) and a Master’s degree in Geology, the latter two from the Colorado School of Mines.

Mr. Bowens brings a vast amount of experience of operating in the Russian Far East and a track record of successful deal-making in the Russian Federation to the Board of Amur.
