John Daly has over three decades of business and management experience, including the last 14 years with British American Tobacco Plc (BAT) in a variety of senior leadership roles running large international businesses. He recently stepped down as Chief Operating Officer of BAT a position he held for 3 years, although he remains a Non Executive Director of Reynolds American Inc., a BAT associate company in the USA. Prior to that John was BAT’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific, a position he held for 6 years based in Hong Kong. In 1994 John joined Rothmans International’s Irish subsidiary P J Carroll & Co and spent 5 years in a variety of leadership positions predominantly in sales and marketing. In 1998 he was appointed as Managing Director of Rothmans Japan and South Korea businesses. John spent his early career in the pharmaceutical industry in senior sales and marketing roles in the UK and Ireland. He has joined the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees of the Board.
Jacky Simmonds is a highly experienced HR professional in the international retail and leisure industry. She is currently Group HR Director of TUI Travel plc, one of the world’s leading leisure travel companies, a role she has held since 2010. She was previously a divisional HR Director of First Choice Holidays until the business was merged with Thomson in 2007 to form TUI. She was subsequently appointed HR Director for TUI UK and played an instrumental role in the integration of the two businesses. Jacky has joined the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees of the Board. From July 2014 she will also chair the Remuneration Committee, at which point Alan Murray will step down as its Chairman. Alan will continue to be Wolseley’s Senior Independent Director.
