– UK, Richmond – Vitec Group plc (LSE:VTC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline Thomson to the Board of the Company as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 November 2015. Caroline will be appointed as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, succeeding Carolyn Fairbairn, who will leave the Board on 31 October 2015 as previously announced. Caroline will also be a member of the Audit and Nominations Committees.
Commenting on the appointment, John McDonough, Vitec’s Chairman said: “I would like to welcome Caroline to the Board of Vitec. Caroline brings extensive experience of the broadcast sector that will be invaluable in the execution of our strategy.”
Caroline Thomson is currently Chair of Digital UK, a Non-Executive Director of CN Group, Deputy Chair of the National Gallery, Executive Director of English National Ballet, a Trustee of Tullie House Gallery and a Non-Executive Director of the Advisory Board to the Shareholder Executive. Until September 2012 Caroline was Chief Operating Officer at the BBC, serving for 12 years as a member of the Executive Board. Caroline also worked at Channel Four for 11 years, including as Head of Corporate Affairs. Caroline has a degree in History and Economics and received an Honorary doctorate from York University in 2013.
