Virgin Money appoints Glen Moreno to the Board as independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman designate

– UK, Edinburgh – Virgin Money Holdings (UK) plc is pleased to confirm the appointment of Glen Moreno to the Virgin Money Board with effect from 1 January 2015, following receipt of regulatory approval. Glen will be an independent Non-executive Director and Chairman Designate, and will succeed Sir David Clementi who intends to retire from the Board of Directors following the Company’s annual general meeting in mid 2015.

About Glen Moreno

Glen is chairman of Pearson PLC and a non-executive director of Fidelity International Limited.  He has more than forty years’ experience in business and finance. His earlier positions include serving as deputy chairman of The Financial Reporting Council, senior independent director at Lloyds Banking Group plc and acting chairman of UK Financial Investments Limited, the company set up by HM Treasury to manage the government’s shareholdings in UK banks.
