Unity Technologies adds Alyssa Henry to its Board of Directors

– USA, CA –  Unity Technologies, creator of the world’s most widely used real-time 3D development platform, today announced the appointment of Alyssa Henry, head of seller and developer business units at Square, to the company’s Board of Directors.

With an extensive history in building developer products and platform ecosystems, Henry brings a unique perspective to Unity’s operations as the company continues to grow beyond games and into new verticals including automotive, film & entertainment, and architecture, engineering, construction (AEC).

“Alyssa’s experience growing developer-facing ecosystems across different industries makes her a uniquely good fit to support our continued growth,” said John Riccitiello, CEO and board member, Unity Technologies. “We look forward to working with her in defining the future of how real-time content is developed and operated in games, and in our new verticals including film, auto and transport, architecture, engineering, and construction.”

At Square, Henry leads both the seller and developer lines of business units, where she’s focused on shifting the company from a payment processing app to broad financial services platform and commerce ecosystem. Prior to her role at Square, Henry served as Vice President of Amazon Web Services’ Storage Services and Product Unit Manager at Microsoft, where she led a variety of products and services from conception through hyper-growth.

“Unity reminds me a lot of what I saw at Amazon and Microsoft: all three companies have a breadth of developer tools that are compatible with many different industries,” said Henry. “Unity, like many of the great companies before it, is at its tipping point. As it grows beyond games and into new verticals, the company is well-positioned to change the way people create — and consume — almost anything. I am looking forward to embarking on this exciting journey with Unity.”
