Twilio appoints Richard Dalzell to its Board of Directors

– USA, CA – Twilio, the software and cloud-based communications platform, today announced that Richard Dalzell has joined its Board of Directors. Dalzell is the former Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President for Amazon.com, the world’s largest online retailer and cloud computing pioneer. In his role at Amazon, Dalzell was responsible for the worldwide architecture and software that powers Amazon’s technology platform. During his decade long tenure with Amazon, the company’s IT infrastructure scaled to support more than 69 million customer accounts, over 40 product lines and over a million third-party sellers. Dalzell also played a key role in the launch of Amazon Web Services, the cloud computing platform that is now leveraged by hundreds of thousands of developers and businesses around the world.

Prior to joining Amazon.com, Inc., Dalzell served several roles at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc from 1990 to 1997, including Vice President of the Information Systems Division where he led the development of Wal-Mart’s data warehouse strategy.

Dalzell holds a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Military AcademyWest Point.
