– UK, Cambridge – ThisWay Global, a machine learning platform for the recruitment industry, has secured £1.6m in a seed funding round led by Imperial Innovations Group plc (AIM: IVO) with participation from Jetstream Ventures and GPHR Ventures’ the corporate fund of global recruitment technology company Grupa Pracuj.
The Cambridge-based startup says it will use the money to expand its offering to recruiters and HR departments. It also plans to further develop its machine learning platform, and expand internationally.
Angela Hood, founder and CEO of ThisWay Global, commented: “This funding will allow us to exploit the high levels of customer interest we are experiencing, expand our operations internationally, continue to develop our data analytics platform and recruit the highly specialised talent we need to continue to grow the business.”
The firm’s platform matches candidates to appropriate job opportunities, streamlining the recruitment process. ThisWay Global was incubated at ideaSpace, Hauser Forum, within the Institute for Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge.
“This new funding gives us the ability to do in minutes what it would typically take a recruiter 40 hours to do. It means they now have the time to do the high-touch work, leaving the high-tech part in our hands,” Hood explained.
In conjunction with the funding, Innovations’ director Kelsey Lynn Skinner will be joining the ThisWay board of directors: “The company, while still early in technical development and commercial execution, is typical of our seed investment strategy for UK emerging technologies with high potential impact in large global markets.”
