Synectics welcomes Dr Alison Vincent to its Board as Independent Director

– UK, Studley –  Synectics Plc (LON: SNX), a leader in the design, integration, control and management of advanced surveillance technology and networked security systems today announced the appointment of Dr Alison Vincent to its Board of Directors as an Independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

“I am delighted to welcome Alison to the board. She has an impressive record of leading and managing large R&D teams in technology areas very relevant to Synectics. In addition to her general experience of global software and enterprise systems-based businesses, Alison will provide the board with an independent expert’s view of the Company’s technology strategy and development execution. We look forward to working closely with her.” said David Coghlan, Chairman.

In addition, due to increasing international business commitments, Peter Rae has decided to retire from the Board and will be standing down with effect from19 February 2020. Mr Rae was Chairman of Synectics from 1999 to 2005 and has served the Company with distinction since then as a Non-Executive Director.

“Peter Rae has made fundamental contributions to guiding and helping develop Synectics over many years; his wise and resolutely independent viewpoints have consistently challenged the board and executive management, and have led to better decisions. We will miss Peter and owe him our most sincere thanks,” added David Coghlan.

About Dr Alison Vincent

Dr Vincent has over 25 years’ experience as a technology leader in major organisations and was most recently Global Chief Information Security Officer for HSBC Group, responsible for worldwide information security and management of cyber risk. Until 2017, Dr Vincent was Chief Technology Officer, UK & Ireland, for Cisco Systems, Inc, having previously been head of R&D at NDS Limited, a leading video software and services company, acquired by Cisco in 2012 for US$5 billion. Prior to joining NDS in 2001, her earlier career was spent as Director of Product Development at Micro Focus, and as a software engineer at IBM UK Labs. Dr Vincent has a PhD in Combinatorics and Cryptography from Royal Holloway, London University and is a Fellow of both the IET and the BCS.
