Synectics appoints Michael Butler to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, Studley – Synectics plc (AIM:SNX), a leader in the design, integration, control and management of advanced surveillance technology and networked security systems, is plesed to announce that it has appointed Michael Butler as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.

Mr Butler has over 30 years of successful commercial experience in well known, high technology businesses. He began his career in 1983 at 3M plc before he left to join BT Group plc in 1988, where he became an account director. Following BT Group plc, Mr Butler joined MCI WorldCom and was appointed managing director of its UK operations company in 1998. From May 2000 to April 2009, Mr Butler served as the managing director, then president & chief operating officer and an executive board director of Inmarsat plc, a FTSE 100 company.

In September 2010 Mr Butler was appointed to the board of Addvalue Technologies Limited as an independent director. In April 2012, Mr Butler was appointed to the board of Thuraya Telecommunications Company as an independent director. He is also non-executive chairman of Broadband Satellite Services Limited and has also served as a non-executive director of GeoReach Global Limited.
