Suniva appointed Frank Sanchez to its Board of Directors

– USA, GA – Suniva, Inc., a manufacturer of high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cells and modules, with headquarters in metro-Atlanta and manufacturing facilities in Georgia and Michigan, today announces that former Under Secretary for International Trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Francisco Sánchez, has joined Suniva’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Sánchez, appointed to Suniva’s Board in December 2015, is currently Chairman of CNS Global Advisors. Sánchez brings a wealth of international experience that will be used to strengthen the company’s American manufacturing competitiveness throughout the global solar industry. CNS Global Advisors provides strategic advice to companies and governments looking to expand in foreign markets.

Until November 2013, Sánchez served as Under Secretary for International Trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce, a post President Barack Obama nominated him to in 2009. Previously, he held the position of assistant secretary for aviation and international affairs at the U.S. Department of Transportation, served in the White House as a special assistant to President Bill Clinton, and was chief of staff to the special envoy to the Americas. He also co-founded and served on the board of NorthStar Bank, in Tampa, Florida. Sánchez also serves as Senior Managing Director for Pt Capital, a private equity firm concentrating on investment opportunities in the Arctic.
