Spirax-Sarco appoints Richard Gillingwater to its Board as Independent Director and next Senior Independent Director

– UK, Cheltenham –  Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc (LON: SPX), the world leader in thermal energy management, peristaltic pumping, and associated fluid path technologies, today announced the appointment of Richard Gillingwater to its Board as an Independent Non‑Executive Director with immediate effect.

Richard’s strong investment, financial and non-executive experience, combined with his many years working with international businesses, will greatly assist the development of the Group. As Senior Independent Director, Richard will also continue our close engagement with shareholders.” said Board Chair, Jamie Pike.

Richard will assume the role of Senior Independent Director on 1st August 2021, succeeding Dr. Trudy Schoolenberg who will step down from the Board after completing nine years as a Director.

About Richard Gillingwater

Richard has held a range of executive positions within global investment banks including Kleinwort Benson, Credit Suisse, and Barclays de Zoete Wedd. He is currently Chair at SSE plc, Chair of Janus Henderson Group plc, Senior Independent Director of Whitbread plc, and Governor at The Wellcome Trust.

Richard holds an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development, a BA in Law from Oxford University, and is a qualified solicitor.
