SIG announces Alan Lovell and Cyrille Ragoucy to its Board as upcoming Non-Executive Directors

– UK, Sheffield – SIG PLC (LSE:SHI), a leading European supplier of specialist building materials, announces that Alan Lovell and Cyrille Ragoucy have been appointed Non-Executive Directors of the Company with effect from 1 August 2018. Mr Lovell has also been appointed as the Senior Independent Director.

Further to the announcement made on 9 March 2018, the Company confirms that Mel Ewell will retire as a Non-Executive Director of the Board with effect from 31 July 2018.

The Chairman of SIG, Andrew Allner said: “I would like to welcome Alan and Cyrille to the Board. Both Alan and Cyrille bring extensive construction industry and turnaround experience in the UK and Europe. Their joining the Board will significantly benefit the Company as it executes its medium term turnaround plan and develops its long term vision and strategy for the future.

On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Mel for his contribution to the Company over the last seven years and in particular for his period as Interim Chief Executive prior to the appointment of Meinie Oldersma as Chief Executive Officer.”

About Alan Lovell

Alan has significant listed company Board experience as a Chairman and Non-Executive Director. He is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of Flowgroup plc (since 2017) and also National Chairman of the Consumer Council for Water (since 2015). In his executive career (prior to 2009), he was Chief Executive of six companies, three in Construction (including Costain), one in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and two in waste-to-energy. More recently he was the Chairman of Tamar Energy Ltd (until 2015), Non-Executive Council Member of Lloyds of London (until 2016), the Senior Independent Director of Sweett Group plc (until 2016), Chairman of Sepura plc (until 2017) and Non-Executive Director of Carillion plc for ten weeks (November 2017 to January 2018).

About Cyrille Ragoucy

Cyrille, a French National, has thirty years’ experience in construction products. His last position was CEO of Tarmac Ltd (until 2016) a leading building materials and construction solutions firm where he oversaw creation of the joint venture between Lafarge SA and Anglo American as well as the integration of several acquisitions, before the entity was purchased by CRH, a large, Irish construction firm in August 2015. Since 2017 he has been Non-Executive Chairman of Balta Group NV and Chryso Group. He is a highly effective and internationally experienced CEO, who defines and executes business plans that achieve shareholder and investor returns.
