INDIANAPOLIS – Sendgine ®, a mobile and web service focused on improving email productivity, today announced the appointment of Shawn Schwegman as Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors. The appointment of Mr. Schwegman, with over 20 years of experience from successful high-growth startup companies, signals a renewed focus on product innovation and user experience to drive the next phase of growth for Sendgine.

Mr. Schwegman came to Sendgine from MaxTradeIn.com, an online automotive trade-in marketplace, where he served as COO and helped to launch and rapidly grow the company in numerous markets. Mr. Schwegman will transition to the Board of Advisors of MaxTradeIn where he will continue to strategically advise the company as they rapidly grow across the nation.
Prior to MaxTradeIn, Mr. Schwegman was the CMO of ChaCha, where he was responsible for growing the company’s customer base from 12 million monthly visits to more than 80 million monthly visits in fewer than three years, catapulting ChaCha into a top 50 U.S. website and top five U.S. mobile website. Mr. Schwegman also spent five years (2000 – 2005) with Overstock.com (Salt Lake City) serving last as Chief Technology Officer, and before that, as Vice President of Marketing. During his time at Overstock, the company grew from a few million in sales to over $804 million in 2005.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Schwegman held various management positions with Vcommerce Corporation (Scottsdale, AZ), SAS Technology (Indianapolis, IN), Sycamore Software Development Corp. (Cincinnati, OH), Fechheimer Brothers Co. (Cincinnati, OH), KiZAN (Cincinnati, OH), Inca Computer Company (Detroit, MI) and PC Upgrades International, Inc. (Cincinnati, OH).
