Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust announces Justin Dowley to the Board as upcoming Non-Executive Director

– UK, Edinburgh – Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Justin Dowley as a non executive director.

Justin Dowley is a former international investment banker. He qualified as a chartered accountant at Price Waterhouse in 1980. Subsequently he was a director of Morgan Grenfell & Co. Limited, Head of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch Europe and a founder partner of Tricorn Partners LLP. He is currently Chairman of Intermediate Capital Group plc and a non executive director of Melrose Industries plc, the National Crime Agency and a number of private companies.

The Chairman of Scottish Mortgage, Mr. John Scott said: “I am very pleased that Mr. Dowley has agreed to join our Board. He has extensive and relevant investment industry experience and will undoubtedly make a valuable contribution to the Company.”

The appointment of Mr. Dowley will take effect from 4 September 2015 and falls to be ratified by shareholders at the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held in 2016.
