Schroder Oriental Income Fund appoints Kate Cornish-Bowden to its Board as Independent Director

– GUERNSEY, St. Peter Port – Schroder Oriental Income Fund Limited (LON:SOI) today announced the appointment of Kate Cornish-Bowden as an independent non-executive director of the Company. Ms Cornish-Bowden has also been appointed a member of the Audit and Risk, Nomination and Management Engagement committees.

Peter Rigg, chairman designate of the Company said: “I am delighted to welcome Kate to the board of the Company. She has extensive and relevant experience and I am sure that she will be able to make a valuable contribution to our work.”

About Kate Cornish-Bowden

Ms Cornish-Bowden worked for 12 years as a fund manager for Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where she was managing director and head of the global equity team. Prior to Morgan Stanley she worked as a research analyst at M&G. Ms Cornish-Bowden is a non-executive Director of Finsbury Growth & Income Trust PLC, CC Japan Income & Growth Trust plc, and Calculus VCT plc, where she is chair of the audit committee, and is a former director of Scancell Holdings plc and Arcis Biotechnology Limited. Ms Cornish-Bowden is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute, holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), and has completed the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma.

Ms Cornish-Bowden’s appointment is effective 20 December 2018.
