– UK, London – RSA Insurance Group plc (LON:RSA) today announced the appointment of Sonia Baxendale as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 March 2019. Sonia will also join the Group Audit and Group Investment Committees.
Commenting on the appointment, RSA Chairman Martin Scicluna said: “I am delighted to welcome Sonia to RSA’s Board. Sonia is a highly experienced senior banking executive who has served at operating board level for one of the top five banks in Canada and has subsequently built a successful portfolio of non-executive positions in listed and privately held businesses. About Sonia Baxendale
Sonia is currently a Non-Executive Director and Member of the Risk Management Committee of Laurentian Bank of Canada and Non-Executive Director, Chair of the Human Resources and Governance Committee and member of the Audit and Finance Committee at Foresters Insurance. She previously served as a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Human Resources & Compensation Committee of CI Financial Corp from 2013 to 2018.
Prior to this Sonia held senior positions at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce where she ran the Retail Banking and Wealth Management divisions.
