Royal Mail announces Keith Williams to its Board as upcoming Non-Executive Director

– UK, London – Royal Mail plc (LSE:RMG), is pleased to announce that Keith Williams is to be appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 January 2018. Keith will become a member of Royal Mail’s Audit and Risk Committee at that time.

Furthermore, the Company announces that Cath Keers will step down as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 28 February 2018 having served almost eight years on the Board.

Commenting on the Board changes, Peter Long, Chairman of Royal Mail, said: “I am delighted to welcome Keith to the Board as a Non-Executive Director. Keith has an outstanding record as a business leader with extensive financial and customer service experience. He will be a strong asset to the Board.

About Keith Williams

Keith is currently Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Aviva, Non-Executive Director and Deputy Chairman of John Lewis. He retired from his role as Executive Chairman of British Airways in March 2016. He joined the airline in 1998 and became Chief Executive in 2011. Prior to joining British Airways he worked for a range of major corporations including Reckitt and Coleman, Apple Computer Inc and Boots and was formerly Director of Iberia Aerolinas and International Consolidated Airlines Group. Keith also retired last year as an Executive board member and Chair of the Audit Committee for Transport for London. Keith is a chartered accountant.
