Pingup appoints Walt Doyle to its Board of Directors as Chairman

– USA, MA – Pingup, provider of the industry’s first API that enables directories, search providers and social platforms to easily add booking capabilities to business listings on mobile and desktop, today announced that Walt Doyle has been appointed as Chairman of its Board of Directors. In this role, Doyle, a local search expert, will guide the company as it systematically scales and help establish a larger engineering team in Pingup’s Boston office.

Walt Doyle joins the Pingup Board of Directors as chairman with more than 20 years of experience in the emerging technology space and local digital marketing services industry. He served as general manager of PayPal Media Network, which he joined through its acquisition of WHERE, a local discovery service and mobile advertising network. Walt was a longtime CEO of WHERE from 2005 through its acquisition in 2011 for $135 million. Prior to WHERE, Doyle served executive level positions at MapQuest, Net2Phone, ZDnet/CNET and Dow Jones. Most recently, Doyle was a Venture Partner at Highland Capital Partners, a global venture capital firm dedicated to investments in disruptive technologies.
