Phoenix Spree Deutschland appoints Charlotte Valeur and Jonathan Thompson to its Board as Independent Directors

– UK, London – Phoenix Spree Deutschland (LSE: PSDL.LN), the UK listed investment company specialising in German residential real estate, today announces the appointments of Charlotte Valeur and Jonathan Thompson as independent Non-Executive Directors of the Company, with effect from 24 January 2018.

Charlotte has held a number of executive and non-executive roles in listed and private businesses. She was the Chair of the Board of both Kennedy Wilson Europe Real Estate Plc and a non-executive Director of 3i Infrastructure Plc. She is currently Chair of Blackstone GSO Loan Financing Ltd, as well as Non-Executive Director of JP Morgan Convertibles Income Fund Ltd and NTR Plc. She also serves as a trustee of Westminster University. Charlotte has over 30 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, working for a range of international investment banks in the City of London. She is also the Founder and CEO of GGG Ltd, trading as Global Governance Group.

Jonathan has extensive real estate and board-level experience. He is currently Chairman of the Investment Property Forum, Non-Executive Chairman of the Argent Group of investment and development businesses, Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the audit and valuation committee of Schroder European Real Estate Investment Trust Plc. Until September 2017 he was Non-Executive Board Member of Strutt & Parker and until December 2017 a Non-Executive Director of South West London & St George’s Mental Health Trust.

He previously worked for KPMG for over 30 years, during which time he spent 10 years as head of its International Real Estate, Building and Construction practice. Jonathan is a Chartered Accountant and an honorary fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

At the same time, Matthew Northover, who has served on the Board since 2007, will step down as a Non-Independent Director and will focus on the business of PMM Partners LLP, Property Advisor to Phoenix Spree Deutschland.
