Norsk Titanium appoints Dawne Hickton to its Board of Directors

– NORWAY, Hønefoss – Norsk Titanium AS announced today that Dawne S. Hickton has been elected to Norsk Titanium’s board of directors. Hickton served as Vice Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer of publicly traded RTI International Metals (RTI) from 2007 to 2015. Under her leadership, RTI experienced aggressive growth through new aerospace contracts, vertical integration, and a series of acquisitions leading to their $1.5 billion acquisition in July 2015 by Alcoa (NYSE:AA).

“Dawne is one of the world’s foremost experts in delivering large-scale orders of structural titanium components to companies such as Airbus, Boeing and Lockheed Martin,” said Norsk Titanium Chairman John Andersen, Jr. “Bringing on an executive leader of her caliber demonstrates how seriously we view our company’s role in revolutionizing the titanium industry.”

“I am honored to join the board and contribute to Norsk Titanium’s exciting journey,” said Dawne S. Hickton. “During my tenure, RTI became one of the first major companies in the metals industry to embrace additive manufacturing, which led to our strategic investment in Norsk Titanium last year. I am very excited to leverage the company’s innovative technology to drive value to aerospace, oil & gas, and other industries looking to cost-reduce their titanium supply.”

Hickton is the President of the International Titanium Association, Director of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, and a Trustee of the University of Pittsburgh.
